As you turned your back to leave
I couldn’t feel a sense of relief
A feeling that you are missed
I knew this night had to end
As I trudged along familiar bends
The usual route I walk you home
I felt a sudden unwillingness
Wishing I could prolong this night
Just to have you by my side
You’ve brought me to a carnival
Enjoyed the Carousels whirl
Not to mention the ferris wheel
Which we both boarded with thrill x
Fireworks decorated the sky
There wasn’t even time to blink our eyes
Lovers hugged one another
As they made promises to be together
When the sky began to clear
It marks the end is here
That feeling of leaving
Left many children weeping
People began to make a move
We couldnt bear to leave the booths
With sunken hearts we left the place
As disappointment began to fill my face
While walking on the grass
You tapped me on my back
Telling me how much fun you had
I smiled and held you by your hands
Promising you that this is not the end
A poem I rote for her =)
